I met you briefly in DC a couple years ago with the Mommas. I have never submitted my son's info to you before, but this year is special as he has finished treatment and is remission.
Austin was and has always been happy, playful, a jokester and a great love-bug (mommas boy!). Being diagnosed at 5-years-old with ALL didn't change that. We always knew with this terrible disease, no matter the outcome, we would always stay positive and try stay as normal as possible. Austin loves bike riding, camping and fishing. During treatment we still continued to make time for all these things. Everything was not always sunshine and rainbows. There were many tears, many anxious visits hoping for good lab results, viruses to overcome and now life lasting side effects from chemo. Austin has grown into a little gentleman and so aware of everyone's needs. He is compassionate and loving and some days I wonder how I deserve to be this boys mom. My brave 9-year-old son battling and beating cancer has taught me invaluable life lessons.
Thanks Tom- for all you do and continue to do. YOU are a rockstar! Hope to meet again in the future.
