Pandora is 14, and a freshman in high school.
Over the last several months, Pandora started experiencing pain in her knee. At first this didn’t seem too alarming, kids get aches and pains it sometimes comes with the territory of being an active teen.
However after a routine drs appointment, we were given the devastating news no family ever wants to hear. The pain in Pandora’s knee, is being caused by an aggressive bone cancer, Osteosarcoma. She has a large tumor in her knee, and it has also metastasized into the lymph nodes behind her knee in her leg, and up into her groin/abdomen.
She has begun a very aggressive and rigid chemotherapy protocol regimented by Stanford University, at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, Ca.
She’s having surgery in February, at Stanford, followed by many more months of chemo after.
Pandora loves playing games on her phone, reading, anime, chatting with friends, movies, music, shopping for fun clothes, learning new things including learning new languages.
Pandora has received lots of love, support, well wishes and prayers.
She’s excited to be running a mile with Tattoo Tom in this race.
