Kennedy is newly 5. While on vacation she hit her head and developed a headache and concussion like symptoms. Momma had her checked out and in the process a CT showed a brain tumor. That same day with no warning momma and Kennedy were transferred to Children's in DC. Once Kennedy arrived and more scans were taken it was determined to be an operable tumor ππ»ππ» Surgery happened 3 days later and 2 days after that Kennedy was home. Surgery was a major win, the entire tumor was easily removed. Her surgeon said he saw it easily and it wasnβt stuck like normal ππ»
The tumor was found earlier then most because she hit her head, divine intervention and a blessing ππ» she had no symptoms and no fluid shifts in her brain ππ» The tumor is curable, again another blessing, it was small and easily removed ππ»
Her journey is far from over and our fight as a family is just getting started.
We as a family have decided not to share her diagnosis because Google is ugly and I do not want anyone using Dr. Google. She has some of the best in the world on her team at childrenβs. The lead of her team is the leader in the field of pediatric brain tumors, again a blessing. Her prognosis as it stands now is great ππ»ππ»ππ»
Kennedy has completed 6 weeks of radiation and she is about to begin 11 months of chemotherapy.
