Parker Kress was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in December of 2014 at 13 years old. He underwent a year of chemotherapy and had surgery to remove the tumor from his leg. This consisted of removing 5 inches of his tibia and replacing it with a cadaver bone. Unfortunately, Parker's leg became infected and in March of 2017, he had his right leg amputated. This was Parker's 7th surgery.
It didn't stop Parker though. It didn't even slow him down. He tried out for and made his high school basketball team, he is currently taking Jiu Jitsu lessons, and he's passionate about weightlifting.
Parker has also made it his mission to pay forward all the kindness he received while in treatment and enjoys being an advocate for Childhood Cancer Awareness.
Parker is now 18 and will be graduating high school in May of 2020.
In December, it will be 5 years since his last chemotherapy treatment and we look forward to celebrating!
