Katie was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 6.  She relapsed into her optic nerves and had a bone marrow transplant at 7.  When she was 14 she was diagnosed with a terminal high grade glioma brain tumor.  She participated in a Phase I clinical trial at Seattle Children’s Hospital before her death in May of 2023.
