Story

King Singh born and raised in Queens, NY was diagnosed with a rare and deadly combination of leukemia (high risk) and G6PD. G6PD is a rare blood disease that is lifelong and incurable. Unfortunately his brother Mesiah also has the rare blood disease.

King was on chemotherapy treatment DAILY for 3 ½ years since diagnosis June 6th, 2016 through October 21st, 2019.  King has been through SO much. He's had countless spinal taps with chemo and numerous blood and platelet transfusions. He took 75 chemo pills a month not including preventative meds and steroids. The scariest part of the chemotherapy treatment is that it can cause a secondary cancer.

Today King is eight years old and has neuropathy (nerve damage) and leukoencephalopathy which is brain swelling and white brain matter loss from the toxicity of the chemotherapy treatment as well as other chronic long term side effects.

King is truly our HERO and inspires us. He is an asset to his community. He volunteers, models in fashion shows and participates in walks to advocate, raise money and spread awareness about childhood cancer and bullying. Since he was just two years old, he continues to attend various events throughout the United States to share his journey, spread awareness and make a difference. King dreams to be a professional artist, model, basketball player and chef.

King lost his grandmother Roxann Singh who was only 59 years old and a 9/11 survivor to a terminal rare ovarian cancer that she got as a result of being there that day. April 10th will be one year and it’s like yesterday and forever all at the same time. She was a crucial part of our life and journey and we’re blessed to have been graced by her presence for the little time we did have. Her genuine love and support is irreplaceable. We’re learning day by day to deal without her and its extremely difficult but we find solace in keeping her memory alive in any way we possibly can. Rest in Paradise Roxann Singh. She was an EXTRAORDINARY mother, wife, sister, friend and the title she exceeded all expectations for and was most proud of was GRANDMOTHER. There will never be another like her!

King started his own 501C3 non profit King Fights Cancer Foundation a 501c3 to support families that have a child diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. He also does toy drives so he can deliver toys to children like him diagnosed with life threatening illnesses to make them smile. He’s spent so many weeks in isolation during treatment so he knows exactly how it feels and how much one toy can brighten up a child’s day. If you want to get involved, please reach out!

As a family we are on a mission to find a cure for cancer so no other family has to go through the pain and suffering we experience. Children are the future, they deserve more than 4%,  less toxic treatments and a CURE!
